 God is MESSIAH

We have truly seen how "God is MAJESTIC". We have looked at 2 Chronicles 26 and how the MAJESTY of God cannot tolerate arrogance. We have looked at Isaiah 6 and how Isaiah saw the MAJESTY of God and fell to his face saying "Woe is me for mine eyes have seen the King".

Right now we will start looking at how "God is MESSIAH". The very God we fall short of is the very God who wants to rescue us from our sin, from ourselves, and from hell. If you remember, at pornfreeshamefree, we are faith based. We believe what the Bible says to be true. The Bible, God's Word, is divided into 2 parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. Let's go back to the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament. Isaiah 6:1-7 says, "In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.' At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. 'Woe to me!' I cried. 'I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.' Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, 'See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.'"

God gives Isaiah a vision where He sees a glimpse of the Glory of God. He sees that He is MAJESTIC. Verses 6-7 help us to see that the God who is MAJESTIC is also MESSIAH. Isaiah experiences forgiveness for his sin. Amazing!!!

This is what we can experience as well. We have all fallen short of God's Glory because of our sin. We need a Savior, and Jesus is that Savior for us. He died on a cross bearing the weight of all the sin of all of humanity, and He drank in God's wrath so you and I wouldn't have to experience that wrath. He died, but on the 3rd day He rose again. He ascended back into Heaven, and one day, He will return to set up a Kingdom and rule and reign for all of eternity. As I type this, I say come quickly Lord Jesus.
Question: Have you received the free gift of Jesus by surrendering your life to Him? If you have, then you are no longer subject to God's wrath. You, like Isaiah, in Isaiah 6, have been completely forgiven.

Isn't that an incredible thought! If we have surrendered our lives to the MAJESTIC, MESSIAH Jesus, then we are completely forgiven of everything we have ever said, thought or done that is sinful. According to Hebrews 10 (in the New Testament of the Bible), this forgiveness covers all past, present, and future sin. Praise the MESSIAH Jesus who forgives us and rescues us from our sin.

I want to use a few passages from both the Old Testament and New Testament to illustrate this forgiveness.

Psalm 103:12-
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

East and west do not touch. They can never meet. Let me illustrate. I live in Texas. A major highway that runs through Texas is I-35. If I am not mistaken, it goes all the way to Minnesota. Imagine this highway circled the globe and went all the way to the north pole. I can go north on I-35 to the north pole, but if I hit the north pole and keep driving, I will be forced to go south. Therefore, north and south touch.

Let's look at the same highway analogy for east and west. Another major highway in Texas is I-20. I believe it goes from far west Texas all the way to Georgia. Imagine this highway could circle the globe. If you started in Texas going east on I-20, you would pass through the Atlantic, Europe, Asia, the Pacific, and you would eventually make it back to America and all the way to Texas. When did you go west? You didn't. The only way to go west would have been for you to turn the car around. What's the point? East and west don't touch. The distance between east and west is infinite, and for those who know Jesus, their sin is infinitely removed from them because of God's forgiveness. Wow!

Let's look at another one.

Isaiah 38:17b-
"In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back."
If God is MAJESTIC, then how big is His back? My best guess would be that it is very big. Read Exodus 33 in the Old Testament of the Bible. In that passage, you will see that God covers the body of a man, Moses, with His hand. If His hand is that big, then His back must be HUGE! For the follower of Jesus, our sins are behind God's massive back, and this indicates to me that they are gone, long gone!

Here is one more.
Isaiah 43:25-
"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more."
God is speaking here. For those who know Jesus, He has blotted out their sin. This simply means He has erased our sin. Think about a dry erase board for a minute. The dry erase marker is used to make some markings on the dry erase board. You grab an eraser and erase the marker. The marker is gone. The same could be said of our sin. However, it doesn't stop there. God continues by saying He doesn't remember our sin anymore. How can an all knowing God not remember our sin? The answer is an easy one. He chooses not to recall them to His memory. What an amazing God!!!

Here is the last one.
Micah 7:18-19-
"Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance. You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea."
No one is like God! He forgives sin. He does not stay angry over our sin, but He gets excited about showing us mercy (withholding from us what we deserve). He is compassionate. He puts our sin under His foot. In this blog we have already established the bigness of God's back and hand. I think it is fair to assume that His foot is pretty big as well. He puts our sin under His foot. We can't get to them. They are gone. It goes further than that though. He puts our sin in the bottom of the sea. I think "Mariana Trench" here. That is the deepest part of the ocean. It is cold and dark, and we are not going to find or locate our sins. What a MESSIAH God!
It is almost impossible to fathom the depth of our forgiveness. For the follower of Jesus, forgiveness from God is real and complete. All we can say to that is Amen and Amen and Amen!!!!

Maybe you are reading this and need to surrender your life to Jesus and receive this gift of forgiveness from Messiah. Maybe you follow Jesus and you find yourself bound by the chains of porn and shame. Maybe you need to know that Jesus forgives all of this!!!!!! In fact the truth of that forgiveness is one of the things God uses to help us walk away from porn and shame and bow down to Him and only Him!

There is forgiveness for things like porn, and this forgiveness provides freedom from shame. He is MAJESTIC God, and we fall short (in lots of ways, not just sexual immorality)! But He is MESSIAH God, and in Jesus, we can experience complete forgiveness for all our sin. Thank you God! WE PRAISE YOUR NAME LORD MOST HIGH!!!!!!!
