Importance of Tracking Temptation
In previous blogs we have looked at confession to God and others. We have looked at what role a mentor or sponsor or accountability plays. We have looked at the concept of a sexual sin inventory, as well as a 30 day media fast. We have challenged you to have an “Escape Plan” when tempted, etc.
In this blog, we will look at the importance of tracking our temptation so we can grow in our own self-awareness of when and how we are tempted. We will also look at heart, meaning what are those negative emotions that leave us vulnerable to lust, pornography, etc. The hope is that you will see how Jesus wants to heal your heart and meet you in the midst of those negative emotions.
Recovery is not hard. It’s impossible without the help of Jesus Christ and His followers. Last blog we looked at the idea of participating in a media fast, as well as looking at the importance of doing a sexual sin inventory. In this blog we will look at the importance of having an escape plan when tempted and what does it mean to have REAL accountability. This Blog will be part 3 in the “Getting Started On Recovery Journey”. Like we have said and continue to say, may these tools you read about today help you on the journey to be free from porn and free from shame!! Enjoy the blog! Keep letting Jesus and His people help you on your recovery journey.
Fasting from Media
Last blog we looked at how sexual sin idolatry leaves us in bondage, but we were created to be free to worship Jesus. God wants to crush the bondage of sexual sin and allow us to walk in the freedom we have if we are believers in His Son, Jesus. In that blog we looked at the role a mentor and a sponsor plays in the freedom that Jesus provides, as well as the importance of confession to God and others (and the healing and freedom that confession brings).
